Basically take out the 5 screws shown, pop off the faceplate and you’re there. I went ahead and took off the LCD screen too as a lot of people have to replace the screen, myself included.

This video shows some (but not all) of what the PSP allows you to output to TV useing the new PSP-2000 hardware and composite cables. It can indeed output UMDs and pictures, but this is not shown.
