Video Conversion For PSP Using A Mac/PC and Quicktime (OLD)

Tested for PSP Version 3.30: PASSED!

This process should work for a Mac or a Windows PC running the latest version of Quicktime Pro. I cannot gaurantee anything for Windows users though and the process may be a bit different.

DON’T WASTE MONEY ON USELESS CONVERSION PROGRAMS! USE QUICKTIME PRO TO CONVERT VIDEOS FOR YOUR PSP! Very useful video if you want to put movies onto your PSP (PlayStation Portable) and have Quicktime Pro on a Mac computer. QuickTime Pro 7.1.3, PSP Version 3.11, OS X 10.4.8 (PowerPC) used. My first instructional video I feel it is okay, I talk a bit fast but the video is easy to follow.

Requirements:

1) PSP with CFW 5.50 GEN-D (Full) already installed

2) Must have WinRar installed to open and extract the files

*** IMPORTANT:

- Do NOT attempt to install this on a PSP 3000 or a PSP 2000 with a TA-088v3 motherboard. If you do, you WILL BRICK YOUR PSP!

- If you brick your PSP I am not held liable!

- Back up your saved files (just in case your files get corrupted, you will have backups to replace them)

- Must have Custom Firmware of at LEAST 4.01 M33. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AT LEAST 5.00 M33-6
to greatly decrease your chances of installation failure and/or bricking.

- If you are a PSP 3000 or Slim (with TA088v3) user you can still have custom firmware by 5.03 GEN-C (or higher).

- In your Theme Settings make sure your “Theme” & “Background” settings are set to “Original”.

- Disable all your plugins

- Make sure your PSP’s battery is charged to at least 78%

*If you have a PSP Slim (2000) you can charge your PSP while using it as your PC’s game controller:
Settings – System Settings – USB Charge – On

The directions to install FuSa GamePad are shown below.

Computer:
1) Plug your PSP to PC via USB.
2) Memorize the PSP’s destination folder that will be shown.
3) Run FuSa GamePad.exe
4) Browse for the PSP’s destination folder.
5) Click Install

PSP:
1) Connect your PSP to PC via USB.
2) Go to the Game Folder, then click on Memory Stick.
3) Run Fusa GamePad
4) It will say, “Connecting” then when it “Connected” you are connected to your PC.
You are now ready to set up the PSP for PC games or Emulators. (Do not ask me how to do this)

*To go back to the home screen on your PSP you must hold down the power button until it completely shuts off, then turn it back on and it will restart your PSP.

How to put Videos on your PSP from a Mac

Alright, in this tutorial I will show you how to convert most any videos in to a format that your PSP can read. I will do so with out downloading other software OR importing and then exporting videos which only decreases your Video quality and does not help your video file size.

In the end, if you do it this way, about every half of an hour of Video should only be about 50 MBs in size. This half of an hour could be anything anything you would like it to be but please don’t pirate.
