Assasins Creed Bloodlines PSP GamePlay Medium / High Quality US, June 2, 2009 – At Sony’s E3 2009 Press Conference, Sony confirmed that Assassin’s Creed on the PSP has a new name, and an official release date.

The portable versions of Ubisoft’s epic murder-for-hire series is now known as Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines.
The game is set for November 10 2009.
Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that an all new Assassin’s Creed game will be coming to the PSP in 2009. Furthermore, the company plans to issue a special PSP hardware bundle along with the game. The title will be exclusive to the PSP system, and is being developed by Ubisoft, who were responsible for the first console game. A handheld spinoff was released on the Nintendo DS in 2008, but it did not live up to the original in terms of sales.

In an official press release the company stated, “Assassins Creed PSP Entertainment Pack Ubisoft will debut an exclusive installment of the popular Assassins Creed franchise on PSP later this year. To commemorate this highly anticipated title, SCEA will launch a new bundle that includes the game, a Piano Black PSP, and other content that will be announced later.”

Wow, we have to say that this comes as a complete and total surprise. However, Assassin’s Creed was one of our favorite games from the consoles last year, so we are excited to see how this handheld version takes shape.
